1.2.1. Site Backup

Before creating a new website, we suggest getting a full backup of the current site.

There are two possible methods.

1. Hosting

• Depending on the server package, there might be a backup option integrated in the hosting account.
• On most servers, the backups will be done automatically each day. Sometimes it is needed to manually configure the backup system.
• Usually the backups are not saved in the same disk space as the site, but this needs to be checked with the hosting support team.

2. Plugin

• We suggest looking into BlogVault, UpDraftPlus, All In One Migration.
• The backups will be saved in the same disk space as the website. But it is also possible to download it on your PC.
• Most such plugins are premium and even if they provide a free version, usually it is used only for generating the backup but not for restoring it.
